Our wide range of clubs and societies is one of the many ways we enable pupils to extend their learning and pursue their interests beyond the traditional timetable. These clubs run during lunchtimes and after school, providing students with valuable opportunities to build friendships, gain new skills, and grow in confidence.
Our enrichment programme is not just a collection of optional extras but a central pillar of the Babington House experience. From sports such as basketball, netball and football to squash, swimming and climbing; from LAMDA, cooking and Art and Textiles, to Debating and chess – there is something for everyone at Babington House.
These opportunities empower our students to develop character, resilience, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. They also allow pupils to form lasting friendships, discover new passions, and grow into confident, capable young people who feel inspired and supported in all areas of their lives.
Clubs booking:
When you start, you will be given access to SOCS – our online platform where you will able to view and book on to our clubs.
Towards the end of the Summer term, you will be sent a notification when Autumn term clubs are available for booking along with your log in details for SOCS.

Music is a big part of life at Babington House and there are many ways that you can get involved whether that be to continue with an instrument or to learn something new. In addition to our senior orchestra and choir we offer a wide range of individual music lessons, this includes:
• Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone
• Violin, Viola, Cello
• Trumpet
• Drums and Percussion
• Piano
• Voice
• Guitar (Classical/Electric)
We offer our musicians the opportunity to perform every half term in our concerts and recitals.
To find out more or to request an application form for individual music lessons, please contact our Head of Music, Ms Nikula: gnikula@babingtonhouse.com
Educational trips are included within the school fees and play a central role in our enrichment offering and are eagerly anticipated by pupils and staff alike. These visits are carefully curated to complement the academic curriculum, bringing learning to life and offering students new perspectives. Whether it’s a history trip to a battlefield site, a geography field study, a theatre visit, or a museum tour, these experiences extend knowledge and ignite curiosity in ways that classroom learning alone cannot achieve.
Among our most eagerly awaited events is the annual ski trip which will take place in April 2027, a longstanding highlight of the school calendar. Open to students across the senior years, the ski trip offers the perfect blend of physical challenge, outdoor adventure, and social bonding. Whether students are strapping on skis for the first time or honing their abilities on the slopes, they develop confidence, resilience, and independence – all while creating unforgettable memories with friends.
Another cornerstone of our enrichment programme is the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme, a transformative initiative that many of our Year 10 pupils choose to undertake. This year-long programme fosters personal growth, leadership, and resilience. Participants work across four key areas: volunteering, physical activity, developing a new skill, and completing a challenging expedition that includes planning, navigation, and camping overnight. Through the DofE, students develop independence, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility, all while building confidence in their ability to overcome obstacles.

We challenge students’ thinking. In every lesson, you will find a rigorous approach to teaching and learning, in which small class sizes enable teachers to really get to know each and every one of the students in their classes. This enables teachers to quickly identify students’ strengths, and areas that need developing, and are able to provide bespoke support that enables all students to succeed.
We have an excellent reputation for delivering outstanding GCSE results. In 2025, nearly 90% of our students achieved all grades 9-5, whilst over a third of our students achieved the very top grades 9-7.
Our new focus on Years 7-11 has enabled us to provide an even greater array of subject choices at GCSE. In addition to the usual subjects already studied in Years 7-9, we offer Textile Design, Business Studies, 3D Product Design, and as of September 2026, we also offer Economics and Dance GCSE.
GCSE examinations are included within the school fees.
You can find out more about the Senior curriculum here.
Pupils in Years 10 enjoy taking part in a week-long work experience placement. This provides the perfect opportunity for them to explore and develop key skills providing inspiration for life beyond Babington House.
Preparation for futures after Babington House is an integral part of our student’s journey. Our careers provision follows the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks ensuring the school provides a wholistic careers programme for our students including a robust post-16 pathway programme.
You can find out more about our Careers programme here.

We are a happy school that students enjoy coming to every day, and one of the key reasons for that is the strength of our pastoral support system.
Our size is our super power!
Our small class sizes mean that each child is known as an individual by their teachers, by their form tutors, and by the school leadership. Our small class sizes enable pupils to form valuable relationships with their peers easily, and our House system and enrichment programme enables pupils to broaden this further, making friendships across other year groups.
This nurturing environment builds students’ confidence and encourages them to try new things, overcome obstacles, and to find their niche. We support them as they grow into their individual selves every day and will be your child’s biggest cheerleader every step of the way.
We have an excellent Learning Support team providing 1-2-1 intervention if required, and offer support for the mental health and emotional wellbeing of your child.

On their first day of school, your child will be given a pupil planner. Pupils are expected to take full responsibility and ensure that all homework is written in the in the planner as soon as it has been set and ensure that this is signed on a weekly basis by their parent/carer.
The student portal:
This is an important channel of communication between pupils and teachers. Pupils will be given their log in to this on their first day and will be able to view their homework, house points, attendance and timetables.
At Babington House, we understand how important it is for parents to feel connected and supported. Our Senior School is led by Ms R Wiffen and the school is overseen by our Headteacher, Mr. David Laird, whose vision and leadership guide our whole-school community.
Should you have any questions or concerns, your child’s form tutor is your first point of contact. For general enquiries, absence reporting, or administrative matters, please contact the school office. Staff are always happy to help, and communication with families is a top priority.

We are proud of our co-educational setting which continually creates a harmonious and balanced community for all. We are a school where everyone is known as an individual and our friendly, welcoming environment makes Babington a happy and vibrant place to be.
From the moment your child joins us, they will be enrolled into one of our four Houses named after famous women in history; Florence Nightingale, Marie Curie, Edith Cavel and Elizabeth Fry. These Houses are a huge part of Babington’s history, inherited from our founder Madame Rossel in 1887. Our House system is a vital part of Babington and encourages our pupils to collaborate, make friends and learn from each other across the school as they come together to participate in a range of activities throughout the school year.
Every parent at Babington House school automatically becomes a member of the Friends Association and are welcome to be a silent observer or an enthusiastic contributor and help with planning and running the many wonderful events throughout the year, such as the Summer Ball or Christmas Bazaar, all of which raise funds for various projects to benefit all pupils.
For information about any BHSFA events, the school shop or any other general enquiries, please email babingtonpta@outlook.com

The Old Babingtonians is a thriving group of former pupils who attended Babington House School and are a major part of our school community. Our Old Babingtonians enjoy meeting annually, and many return regularly to speak to pupils about their career and life after Babington.

Our Menu:
Our weekly changing lunch menu provides a wide variety of hot main courses, including classic, traditional, and favourite dishes and new ideas to try. We also offer a delicious vegetarian option, pasta dishes, or jacket potatoes, served with seasonal vegetables or salad and accompaniments. Our weekly menu can be found on the parent portal. Click here to view a sample menu.
Special dietary requirements:
The Catering Team recognise that an increasing number of children suffer from allergies and intolerances. Additionally, many children have food preferences; this may be for many reasons, including religion, beliefs, or lifestyle choices.
We try to ensure everyone’s needs are met. No nuts or sesame are used in food production at Babington. However, some items are manufactured in environments that also handle some of the 14 listed Allergens, so we class these as ‘May Contain’, which are clearly labelled.
In addition to Foundation Food Allergen training for every team member, five of our 8-strong team are Allergy Champions who assist the staff and pupils in making safe food choices.
Please visit our policies page to access all the school policies.
